Shock City out of Playoffs
Shock City Premier missed out on the Spring 26 playoffs after a 3-1 defeat to Tampa Rangers. Needing a win to secure a playoff spot the night started positive with striker Naba putting Shock City ahead. Rangers capitalized near halftime to make it level at the break. Rangers went ahead early in the second half with a goal off of a long throw after a clear push in the back was missed by the officials. Protests saw Daniel Lopez and coach Nathan Ball both receive yellow cards. After several more questionable officiating calls things began to unravel. Sebi Gacharna was shown red for a bad challenge in the 80th min. During the ensuing chaos Coach Ball and Lopez received their second yellows and were also sent off. 3 mins later Erik Espinoza was sent off after receiving his second yellow. With West Florida Flames and DME Academy both also winning their respective matches the loss placed Shock City in 9th and out of the playoffs.
Tsalickis & Ornelas take home team MVP
Michael Tsalickis started in 8 of the 10 games for Division 1 and logged 720mins. Along with several substitute appearances with the Premier Division team. Although Division 1 struggled to win it was not due to lack of defensive effort that was led by Tsalickis. Ornelas joined the team this season and made an immediate impact in a revamped Midfield. Immediately displaying a high defensive work rate and great ability to help unlock defenses with his passing abilities.
Alzhyri win club golden boot
Naba Alzhyri led the club in a revamped forward line that saw Shock City Premier finish with the 3rd best attack in the conference with 33 goals scored. After last season the team only scoring 18. Alzhyri's strength on the ball often allowed him to over power defenders and put himself in position to get off dangerous attempts regularly. Luis Lardizibal was second in goals with 6 goals and 4 assists and Diego Ornelas with 4 goals and 5 assists.
